Although he’s too modest to admit it, Ernie Arellano is the brains – and the big smile – behind the World’s Best Dives by Ernie Arellano and the EGA Group. (He’s Dexter Doodle’s dad, too, although the two bear no resemblance.)

Ernie was certified in 1971. His instructor was none other than Commander Jim Williams, a scuba industry icon who founded the PADI instructor college. Ernie’s professional background has literally spanned all aspects of the dive travel industry; Master scuba instructor, partner/operator of a Caribbean dive center, owner of a dive travel specialty company, sales and marketing expert, and Industry professional in the photography/videography markets.

He’s literally, “been there, done that.” With such varied experience, Ernie is able to view the intricacies of scuba travel from every possible perspective. It’s what enables him to pinpoint and promote the very best dive vacations on the planet. Ernie’s also an amateur expert on the world’s best spas and “dive” bars, too.
