Sandy Sondrol is a photographer and writer who focuses on destination diving. His background includes 10 years in Grand Cayman as a dive instructor and boat captain for Bob Soto’s Diving and then three years working for Nekton Live-aboards before becoming the associate publisher of a well known US dive magazine. Since 2007 Sandy has worked as a freelance writer and photographer and has also been working with Ernie ever since. He is a dive instructor and holds a USCG 500-ton captain’s license.
Before becoming addicted to dive travel he practiced law in Iowa. Sandy has flown countless air miles and logged over 5,000 dives, photographing and writing about: Sipadan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Komodo, Bali, Borneo and Maratua in Indonesia, Belize and the Red Sea/Egypt. He has also dived and traveled in the Bahamas, Mexico, Costa Rica, Palau, the Galapagos, the Dominican Republic, Curacao, South Florida, Texas and Minnesota.
